2035 Net-Zero

HD Hyundai Marine Solution officially declared carbon neutrality for 2035 in May 2024.
This is ahead of the global maritime industry's 2050 target, and we are establishing specific roadmaps and promoting the implementation of reductions to accelerate carbon neutrality. Additionally, we will transparently disclose all processes for achieving Net-Zero and create concrete results through responsible actions.

Carbon Neutrality Roadmap

We are focusing on the vessel repair and retrofit business in response to global regulations on vessel greenhouse gas reduction and the increasing demand from customers and shipowners for green vessels to comply with environmental regulations. As carbon emissions are expected to increase due to business portfolio expansion, we derived a carbon-neutrality pathway that aligns with sales growth and facility expansion plans, setting targets of a 50% reduction from 2023 emissions by 2027, an 80% reduction by 2032, and a 100% reduction by 2035.

Carbon Neutrality Implementation Strategy

We aim to achieve 'Zero' Scope 1 emissions by 2035 by reducing greenhouse gas emissions from mobile and stationary combustion through vehicle and facility electrification and by utilizing power from green generation sources to replace these emission sources. Additionally, we are developing plans based on reduction scenarios, such as power facility conversion and renewable energy purchases, to manage greenhouse gas emissions from electricity use under Scope 2.
